I had been warned one day not to date the first person that I ran into, but that’s exactly what I did.  This person was very nice, handsome, lots of fun, and always gave me nice gifts, including money, and he could cook very well.  This is by far, up to that point, the nicest guy I ever dated. 

Then, one night Jesus came to me in a dream showing me bad scenes in my life and telling me to stay away from this person, that he was not good for me and Jesus revealed to me the bad things that he would do if I stayed in that relationship.  The dream reminded me of the different scenes that Ebenezer experienced in the Christmas Carol fiction, except this was me being warned in a dream by Jesus and it was for real!   When He showed me the last scene, I looked at Him and said, this person treats me like a queen and would never do those awful things.  Then I said to Jesus, “Who are you?  Who are you?”  And the dream was over.  I can remember He seemed saddened by my question.

The dream affected me deeply though, and I regret not paying attention to the warning, as each scene began to unfold in real life. When I realized it was truly Jesus in my dream and that His words were accurate, I attempted to end the relationship. However, breaking free proved to be incredibly difficult. I sought God’s forgiveness for ignoring the warning.  And finally, after a lot of trials and tribulations I was able to get out.

About six months after the relationship was over for good and the person was not on my mind at all, I had another dream where I was sitting at a dining table playing cards with my sister, in an actual apartment that I lived in at one point in real life.  The person comes in and introduces another woman as his new girlfriend.  I said, “Hi, nice to meet you.”  And continued to play cards.  He became argumentative when I didn’t show any kind of jealousy, so my sister and I got up to leave.  He continued with his new friend and followed behind us, still arguing until we were all outside.

As soon as the last person was out, the door slammed extremely hard by itself and bolted shut from the other side and there was no way that it would be opened again.  At the same time, a tremendous storm was starting to brew, and the street divided into three paths.  My sister and I took the left path, the person and his friend went straight, and before we knew it, instead of rain, fireballs were being hurled at our feet.  We began running and screaming and jumping to avoid the fireballs. 

Then I turned left and was suddenly by myself, alone, behind a large rock.  When I came around the rock, I was on the most beautiful beach I had ever seen!  I said out loud, “What in the world is this!  I could still hear the storm toning down some, but it was still sort of rumbling.  When I looked to the west and up at the sky, I noticed a singular storm cloud amidst an otherwise clear sky and the cloud seemed different and was moving slowly from west to east. It seemed to be watching me.  I thought to myself, there is something different about this cloud and continued to follow it with my eyes, trying to figure out what was unique about it. 

That’s when I spotted the crystal-clear water, more dazzling than diamonds. I walked over to the edge and said out loud, “Look at this water! I’ve never seen anything like it!” It was so transparent that you could see all the way to the ocean floor, where sea aquatics were lush, big and beautiful. Further out to sea the water was lined with boulder rocks that shimmered in varying hues of coral. The scene was breathtakingly beautiful! Just then, the cloud erupted into an eternal harmony of rumbling thunder with brilliant flashes of lightning but speaking all the attributes of God in the respective element. In other words, the voice of God sounded like thunder was speaking. The voice of God sounded like the ocean, or many waters speaking.

And they were speaking at the same time! God told me Who He Is! A direct answer from the previous dream when I said to Jesus, “Who are You?”.

Let me say this once more. I heard what I believe is the voice of God, emanating from the cloud, very powerfully with strikes of lightning and big booms of thunder, speaking the attributes of God, in various elements at the same time!  It was a lot, but what I caught was “God is the God of the thunder and of the waters of the seas.”  It was so powerful that I immediately dropped to my knees and put both hands over my head.  That’s when two invisible beings took each arm and lifted me up and started to carry me out over the water.

I started to panic and scream. “Wait, please, let me go! Please, I can’t swim.”  But they carried me out there anyway, about a hundred feet from shore and let me go.  I splashed into the water and was going straight down, slowly drowning.   Even though the water started to bubble around my mouth and nose, and I knew I was about to drown, I had to get one last glimpse at this beautiful place just once more before succumbing.  I was sinking, and suddenly I landed at the bottom, and to my surprise I was still alert!  I thought to myself, “Hey I’m not dead.  This water is not only beautiful, but it’s also smart!  It didn’t go into my nose, ears, or lungs and I could open my eyes and mouth easily without blinking or choking, and I could see all the extremely lush and beautiful aquatic plants!  What kind of water is this, I thought?  It was fun water and amazing crystal-clear beautiful water with amazing, amazing scenery!

I started thinking about all the underwater tricks I was about to do and how much fun I was going to have in this beautiful water.  And just as I was about to start having fun, I was suddenly lifted out and found myself back on the beach. Then I spotted a large black fish swimming swiftly from west to east just beneath the surface of the water. I followed its movement along the shoreline with my eyes, and that’s when I looked up and saw two Eskimos armed with a large spear. As the fish swam past them, they thrust the spear down, piercing the fish and killing it. For reasons I can’t explain, I couldn’t help but jump up and down, clapping my hands and cheering, “Yay, they got some food!” And that was the end of the dream.

Naturally, when we have vivid dreams about God there is always a divine message, and we have to examine it closely to try to understand the meaning.  But this one is seemingly easy to interpret yet has me baffled.  I was warned in a previous dream to get out of a relationship in real life.  I was stubborn about it, but eventually did get out of it.  The hurling fireballs I believe were a rebuke for my disbelief and disobedience.  I heard God’s voice telling me who He Is, and that sent me to my knees!  I also believe God gave me a glimpse of the new earth and the living water that Jesus spoke about.  I can’t figure out the black fish and the two Eskimos killing it.  I know that the fish is symbolic of Christianity and that Jesus gave His life for the ransom of many, however what about the link to Eskimos?   With this dream, I am left to ponder.
